Upcoming Far Cry 6 title’s producer Emile Liang has left Ubisoft after 24 years. He was at Ubisoft Toronto for the last eight years.
He recently posted brief news of his retirement from Ubisoft on LinkedIn. Before the exit, he served as the producer on the next big installment, Far Cry 6.
Emile’s exit and what to expect now for ‘Far Cry 6’?
On LinkedIn, he revealed that July was technically his last month at Ubisoft. He was working there since May 1998.
In his letter, the developer also thanked all his friends and colleagues who supported his career regarding game production.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he still loves the gaming industry. And now he wants to work towards contributing to it from a new angle.
For those who are unaware, he is starting his own company soon.
When it comes to his experience, he initially began as the project manager at Ubisoft Montreal, a year after its foundation. He was the associate producer on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in 2003.
After that, he also worked on Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Assassin’s Creed 3, and Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Ultimately, he moved to Ubisoft’s Toronto office to work on the Far Cry series.
Apart from the upcoming Far Cry 6, he was also the Far Cry 4 and Far Cry: Primal producer.
Talking about Far Cry 6, then he worked on it for the last five years. And Liang’s exit won’t affect it anyway, which is a good thing for the title. It’s also because the game is finished now and ready to come out soon in October.
