“We will let you know when you can preorder PS5,” the worldwide head of PlayStation marketing said during the event. “It’s not gonna happen with a minute’s notice.”
With people in quarantine and stuck inside for most of the year, it’s understood why you might find yourself every day hunting down any bit of PS5 news. Admit it, we are all excited for the PlayStation 5!
The PS5 is only months away, and further details on Sony’s console are emerging at a rapid clip. We now know that the system will be a black-and-white box with rounded angles and fins on the top. We also know that it will share a color pattern with the similarly black-and-white DualSense Controller.
So far, it has been a sad season in terms of knowing when and how to acquire a new next-generation console bundle. However, Sony manages to have a particular pattern on how and when they launch their gadgets.
Let’s jump into what you’ll likely play out for all things PlayStation 5 bundles before they’re released.
PS5 possible bundles
As reported by Gameour, there is no release date yet for the PS5 or its possible bundles. However, its release window has been confirmed for the Holidays this year.
Typically, game publishers attempt to publish their games during a week where there isn’t another massive IP sequel launching. The only time this strategy is inappropriate is when it is near the launch window of a console so that players have a hefty amount of games to play on the first day of the next-generation.
So, if another significant title is to be released this week, we can assume the PS5’s announcement must be targeted near the end of November. In terms of preordering the console bundles, Sony has affirmed that it will make consumers aware beforehand when preorders go live.
“We will let you know when you can preorder the PS5,” the worldwide head of PlayStation marketing said during the event. “It’s not gonna happen with a minute’s notice.”
Launch prices and preorders
Pricing-wise, nothing has been officially stated or leaked yet. However, many industry critics have predicted the console itself will cost more than its predecessor.
PS5 preorders will launch somewhere between $400 – $500 or £400 – £500 or AU$700 – $800. Rumors believe that you can probably knock off $50 or £50 or AU$100 for the PS5 Digital Edition.
No matter what the situation is, we hope Sony will continue the tradition of its bundles coming with physical copies of the console to increase resale value. We can’t guarantee it, though.
