While sharing the big news, the official PlayStation blog also mentioned that TLOU2 has so far gained many accolades. It includes more than 300 Game of the Year Awards, which is an “unprecedented achievement.”
The Last of Us 2 even won the BAFTA EE Game of the Year and the Golden Joystick Ultimate Game of the Year.
The blog said that it finally adds the option of 60 fps on PS5, coming onto the newly released performance patch.
After installing update 1.08, which is unrestricted, players will find a toggle in the Display options. They will have a choice of going with a 30 fps or 60 fps setting for the gameplay.
Thus, the fans can choose their preferred way of running The Last of Us 2 on their PS5 consoles.
The framerate addition complements the backward compatibility and other significant enhancements in the Naughty Dog’s blockbuster.
And in case you missed it, a faster loading time was already present for TLOU2 on PS5.
Furthermore, the blog added that more features would make their way for the title, on the latest platform, in the future.

Will there be a ‘Last of Us 3’?
While the franchise is only growing since its origin in 2013 with the first installment, there are still expectations for more.
It became evident after the way The Last of Us 2 ended in a strange, teasing manner because there was no ultimate winner between Ellie and Abby.
Since that shocking ending, many people have wondered if there will be a third party or not in the future.
Interestingly, a few weeks some reports did reveal that there was a draft for the threequel.
It implies that Naughty Dog may announce The Last of Us 3 at some point in the coming years.
However, nothing can be confirmed as of now since there’s been no direct and robust hint from the developers’ side.
On the other hand, Sony has planned a PS5 remake for the first part. It will arrive soon when it’s finished under the original team.
Coming back to The Last of Us 2, it’s now available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
