‘PUBG’ developer working on a new, open-world sci-fi game

After announcing PUBG: New State earlier this year, the team behind the popular universe is said to be working on a brand new sci-fi title.

The PUBG developer is currently planning to come out with a new game. It will be an open-world, sci-fi IP.

And yes, it won’t be a Battle Royale type when it comes to formatting.

Details on the new open-world title from ‘PUBG’ team

New reports and job listings have provided a hint for the next big game from the people behind PUBG.

As per the listings, the project, at the moment, is called “Vertical.”

And it’s not Undawn, the recently announced title from Tencent. “Vertical” is a new project.

Undawn, on the other hand, will be a post-apocalyptic, co-op zombie survival.

The new PUBG game was then revealed by an insider account named @PlayerIGN on Twitter. The profile is not related to the IGN website.

So, this information from @PlayerIGN shows two tweets, as you can see above, about a new game from Tencent.

It will be built on Unreal Engine 4 and arrive in the next two three years.

Whether it will be single-player or co-op is yet to be confirmed in the coming months, or by next year, probably.

Upcoming video games of 2021

Meanwhile, the gaming arena will remain busy with many surprises before a game makes its way from the PUBG house.

Speaking of surprises, then 2021 is packed with serious heavyweights. Some of the year’s potential blockbusters are Resident Evil Village, STALKER 2, and Far Cry 6.

A new Call of Duty entry, God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and Halo Infinite are highly anticipated.

But that’s not everything. There’s more to watch out for!

The line-up extends further with the likes of Cyber Shadow, No More Heroes 3, Humankind, Stray, and New World.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Biomutant, GhostWire: Tokyo, Dying Light 2, Deathloop, and Psychonauts 2 are other crucial launches.

Several recently announced games arriving later in 2021 are The Day Before, Etched Memories, and Glitchpunk. The latter will remind many players of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.

Glitchpunk is also based on the theme of futuristic, dystopian cities and advanced technology.

Like Cyberpunk, it will also have an open-world experience with a deeper storyline regarding the main protagonist.

What do you think about all the significant titles releasing later this year? Are you hyped for them?
