Making entry into every match to be as dramatic as possible, PUBG rolls out an engine failure scene mid-flight.
For years since its conception, players have been faced with the exact same scenario prior to every match. That is, to see players aboard a plane and choosing the timing when to land at any point from the map’s sky. While the event innately is fun, too much of the same thing can make the experience stale and less amusing over time. Realizing that fact, PUBG is giving players a good reason to parachute their way into the battleground from what seems to be an emergency landing.
More Useful Than It Looks
But there appears to be a more functional purpose to that affect. As it appears, players who opt to remain onboard as the engine failure happens are in it for the quicker dive. Meaning, players who prefer to land sooner rather than later would want to witness the thrilling event mostly and choose to parachute at the perfect moment. Yet, as the timing may vary per player’s preference, how later or sooner the take-off becomes is a difference between potential drop-off points.
Out of sheer curiosity, others may likely want to experience the fall through and through. While, logically, it may entail in-game death as in real life, it appears that it only results to 50 percent HP loss. Thus, only those who would prefer to play a match with a serious handicap would want to bear through the entire disastrous descent.
Other Changes
As exciting as those sounds, fortunately, those are not the only changes that come with update 13.1. Another notable alteration comes in the form of an increased Care Package airdrops. This follows a community’s qualm over what seems to be a scarcity of healing items in the battleground. One, in the worst-case scenario, could be monopolized by certain players due to relative scarcity. Or, at the best-case scenario, shared across a small fraction of players in the field.
Further adding to the interest, the update also sees the introduction of a “secret room” within Taego. Which, as it appears, is a hidden repository for powerful arsenals that could substantially boost anyone’s success of winning a “chicken dinner”. However, as the room itself is not openly accessible, part of the challenge comes in finding the key.
The game also sees modifications to the spawn rates of multiple items, like stocks, stun grenades, etc. Additionally, a few items will be making a fresh presence as well, which includes a C4, spike trap, and an emergency pickup.
