Queen Elizabeth II was allegedly trying to shut down the brewing war between the crown and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to a report.
Queen Elizabeth II wanted to end the drama involving Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the rest of the members of the royal family. The Sussexes made several shocking revelations against the royal family in their interview with Oprah Winfrey. Their bombshell tell-all includes a racism allegation against a member of the firm.
Queen Elizabeth wants to end the Sussex-royal family war
The Queen’s royal household is attempting to “shut down” the increasing heated briefing war between the crown and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to New Idea. The outlet was referring to the various intrigues plaguing the members of the royal family, in particular, the Duchess of Sussex.
Queen has had enough of the drama and wants to “shut down the debate and take the heat off the ‘institution,” royal correspondent Richard Palmer told Express.
“That briefing war between the two camps in the Sussexes v Royal Family dispute continues,” Palmer said. “Former aides and the Sussexes are furious.”
According to Palmer, the monarch wants to take the heat off the institution and make it a family matter. However, there was real anger among the staff and former staff who found Prince Harry and Markle’s claims “outrageous.”
What happened before the alleged war
Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month. During the tell-all, they made several bombshell revelations, including Markle having suicidal thoughts.
New Idea also noted that the Duchess of Sussex is seeking legal action after accusations from former advisers at Kensington Palace that she bullied former staff members. Markle’s former communication assistant, Jason Knauf, submitted the complaint in October 2018 to protect the palace staff from allegedly “coming under pressure” from her.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement addressing the allegation. They believed it was the latest attack on Markle’s character. Meanwhile, the palace said they were taking the allegation seriously and would investigate it privately.
Othe revelations in the Oprah interview
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared that a member of the royal family raised concerns on how dark their son Archie’s skin would be. However, they declined to drop names because they knew it would be damaging to the royals.
Oprah Winfrey said Prince Harry told her the person was neither his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, nor his grandfather, Prince Philip.
The Duchess of Sussex also denied the rumors that she made Kate Middleton cry. Instead, she said the reverse happened, but the Duchess of Cambridge already apologized, and she had already forgiven her.
