Queen Elizabeth is, allegedly, angry at Meghan Markle for stabbing her and the royal family in the back.
Last week, Markle revealed that she was unprotected by the royal family while she was pregnant with Archie. Even though she didn’t namedrop Queen Elizabeth, there are claims that she was throwing shade at the monarch in her statement.
Queen Elizabeth allegedly declared war against Meghan Markle
Shortly after, National Enquirer claimed that Her Majesty declared war against Markle. An unnamed source also said that the 94-year-old is angry and embarrassed with what Prince Harry’s wife did. However, no concrete pieces of evidence can confirm that these hearsays are correct as of this writing.
“The queen is angry and embarrassed. She’s been stabbed in the back. The royals remain tight-lipped about their personal life. It’s protocol – the queen doesn’t react well to their dirty laundry being aired. But Meghan’s made her feelings clear,” the unnamed source said, as per National Enquirer.
Meghan Markle’s fans slam Queen Elizabeth
Fans of Markle quickly showed the former royal their support after learning that the royal family didn’t support her while she was pregnant.
Some royal fans said that they are heartbroken for the Duchess of Sussex via Twitter. Others also said that the Sussexes are lucky because Archie is normal considering the stress that he must have also gone through two years ago.
Other supporters of Markle slammed Queen Elizabeth.
“I have never experienced the depth of disdain for the queen and the British Royal Family as I do now,” one person wrote (via Express).
“Unprotected by the Institution, and prohibited from defending herself’ – if that’s not an indictment on the monarchy I don’t know what is! #abolishthemonarchy,” another Twitter user wrote.
“The Institution aka her in-laws abandoned her to the wolves, then undermined efforts to protect her,” another Markle supporter commented.
Why the queen stayed mum on Meghan Markle’s personal issues
As of late, the queen still hasn’t responded to Markle’s allegations. A source told People that this is because the go-to position at the palace was to not comment and to ignore stories. And this is what Markle is taking issue with.
“The palace teams are faced with the difficulty that when things go wrong, particularly on private life matters. Quite often, any action taken with the media makes it worse. It’s not that the royal household doesn’t want to help—more that they don’t want to make it worse by giving a gossipy story more oxygen,” the source said.
Throughout her life, Queen Elizabeth hasn’t also meddled on other topics such as politics and religion.
