Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth reportedly have different plans on how to handle the controversies involving the Sussexes.
Nearly two weeks have passed since Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah aired on small screens. While Buckingham Palace has already released an official statement, Queen Elizabeth has yet to personally address the matters.
It is not surprising, though, that the British Monarch has refrained from commenting on the issue. But, royal sources believe that she has a “hidden jab” at the Sussex couple in the Palace’s announcement regarding the matter.
The Daily Express released a report on the matter, detailing the assertions of the informants. As claimed, the Queen is “angry” at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
An official statement from Buckingham Palace
The controversial interview with Oprah dropped on CBS on March 7. Days after the release of the two-hour special feature, Buckingham Palace commented on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s allegations.
As revealed, the British Royal Family is “saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging” it has become for the Sussex couple. The Palace also noted that the raised issues, especially the ones relating to race, are “concerning.”
The statement continued that the royals take all the Sussexes’ comments “very seriously,” adding that the family will address these things privately. However, it emphasized, as well, that “some recollections may vary.”
Queen Elizabeth is reportedly “angry”
A source from Buckingham Palace, later on, claimed that the latter statement was an “underlying jab” from Queen Elizabeth. Speaking to People, the unnamed tipster alleged that it was because of the monarch’s anger and fury.
As explained, she reportedly had genuine “mixed emotions,” alongside shock and deep sorrow. Although the Queen may never show or express it, the said line from the official statement seemingly proves how she truly feels about the controversy.
There is a lack of confirmation, though, whether the British Monarch is, indeed, furious toward Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. But, some royal commentators believe that she wants to take a “modest approach” in handling the debacle.
The Queen and Prince Charles have different approaches
In an episode of the Royally Us podcast, hosts Christina Garibaldi and Molly Mulshine claimed that while the Queen wants this kind of way to handle the issues, Prince Charles prefers to “refute” all the allegations.
The duo also noted that the Prince of Wales is seeking to “lay it all out here” and explain each of the Sussexes’ claims. But, whether or not he is on the same page with Queen Elizabeth, it remains unclear what the family’s next step will be in the following weeks.
