Queen Elizabeth demoted, humiliated Prince Charles' wife Camilla Parker Bowles: Rumor

Queen Elizabeth II demoted and humiliated Camilla Parker Bowles, the wife of the heir apparent, Prince Charles, according to a tabloid.

Queen Elizabeth II is still the reigning queen of the British monarch. There are rumors that she allegedly wanted to skip the Prince of Wales. The claim sparked rumors that Her Majesty robbed Camilla Parker Bowles of her chance to be the next queen.

Queen Elizabeth allegedly demoted Camilla Parker Bowles

Globe published a report claiming that Prince Charles’ wife Camilla Parker Bowles was very angry because she was allegedly “being officially robbed of her dream of becoming queen.” It quoted an anonymous source claiming that the Duchess of Cornwall was demoted by the queen down to princess consort.

Prince Charles was allegedly demanding that the rulings be reversed. Meanwhile, Camilla felt humiliated by the whole ordeal, according to an insider.

The tabloid added that the title was a “totally invented name” and was never used in the royal history. Also, the title would hamper her power. The tabloid added that Camilla was willing to do anything to become “Queen Camilla.”

Rumor debunked

Gossip Cop refuted the claim because there is no demotion. When Prince Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles, the palace announced that she will be a princess consort when he takes over the throne.

Camilla knew from the very start that even if she was marrying a future king, her title would only be princess consort, not queen or queen consort.

The outlet noted that Camilla’s position was complicated but the probable reason is that she is Prince Charles’ second wife. Also, she is not the mother of the second in line to the throne, Prince William.

Moreover, contrary to the tabloid’s claim, the term “princess consort” has a deep history in the royalty. For instance, Grace Kelly was known as princess consort in Monaco. Meanwhile, Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert, gained the prince consort title after his death.

It’s a term used when people marry from unequal social ranks and not a demotion. Gossip Cop debunked the report and noted that it was designed to make the Duchess of Cornwall looked like she was power-hungry when she’s not.

Camilla not desperate to be a queen

In contrast to what the tabloid claimed, Camilla Parker Bowles has no desire to be queen. According to Angela Mollard, the duchess doesn’t mind the title. Also, she has been aware of the directive that she would be a princess consort from the start.

“Apparently she has no desire to be anything more than Princess Consort. She doesn’t need to be Queen and this is just confirmation from Clarence House that that will be her title,” Mollard explained in the New Idea’s ROYALS podcast.
