Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more members of the royal family were mocked in HBO Max’s parody show The Prince.
Queen Elizabeth II and the members of the royal family were popular for their being formal and graceful. They are very particular when it comes to their public image. However, they were mocked in a new satire and parody show on HBO Max.
Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royals allegedly mocked
A parody show on HBO Max titled The Prince started streaming on Thursday. However, it raised some eyebrows because it depicted the royal family differently. Apparently, it seemed to be mocking the royal family, Geo News reported.
The show which was meant to be a comedy made fun of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s marriage. It also pokes fun at Prince Harry’s relationship with his son, Archie.
In one scene, Middleton said she was late for an appointment. Meanwhile, Prince William said he didn’t think the pubs were open late.
Another scene featured Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moving into a small apartment in Los Angeles. The prince described the place as the “smallest palace” he has ever seen. Markle corrected him saying they are inside an apartment and the duke agreed saying, “it’s an apartment palace.”
Another scene also featured the Queen saying, “I want a treat, I want a treat.”
It also featured Prince Charles talking to Camilla saying it’s his turn. He is probably talking about leading the monarchy. The Prince of Wales added that he is no longer a little boy and doesn’t have to go running just when the Queen knocks on the door and calls him to hurry up because they are leaving. Prince Charles hurriedly runs to the door saying, “Coming, mummy!”

Show criticizes for using Prince George
While many were irked at how the show targeted the senior royals, more were furious with the way it targeted Prince George. Several netizens agreed that the show could make fun of the royal family but the kids should be off-limits.
Royals have been parodied on dozens of shows over the years (Spitting Image, The Windsors, SNL etc) but this is the first time I can recall children being targeted. It may be “comedy” but it comes across as creepy and borderline-bullying. Seems like many of you feel the same… pic.twitter.com/1nKTrSFGsd

Royal correspondent Omid Scobie said the royals have been parodied a dozen times, but it’s the first time that children are being targeted. Aside from Prince George, her siblings Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte are also part of the show.
“It may be ‘comedy’ but it comes across as creepy and borderline-bullying,” the author of Finding Freedom said.
