Ubisoft has finally given clarity over its game Rainbow Six Quarantine. It has cleared that the title hasn’t been renamed yet.
According to Eurogamer, Ubisoft cleared the doubts of many people who thought Rainbow Six Quarantine had been renamed. Recent reports suggested that the new name was Rainbow Six Parasite, but the publisher straightly denied it.
Last week, it did say that the game might witness a change in its name due to the pandemic. However, there was no official confirmation.
It’s still “Rainbow Six Quarantine,” not Parasite
The actual confusion began last week when an artwork by MP1st showed the new name Rainbow Six Parasite. Not just that, there was a logo as well with the title.
Eventually, Ubisoft then decided to issue a formal statement to prevent further complications.
“While we recently shared that we will be changing the name of Rainbow Six Quarantine, ‘Parasite’ is only a placeholder that our internal teams use,” a spokesperson said.
“Recently, we ran an internal test for the game, and some of its details became public. We can confirm this is a glimpse of the upcoming game, and we will share more details, including the official name, soon.”
Speaking of the game itself, then Rainbow Six Quarantine is a co-op PVE shooter. It’s similar to Left 4 Dead as far as the style is concerned.
Ubisoft originally announced it during 2019’s E3 event. But due to several issues, it faced constant delays. One reason for that was also the ongoing pandemic itself. Its initial release date was 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
Anticipated video games of 2021
Meanwhile, the players will see a new wave of blockbusters for massive video game titles in the new year. Just like 2020, this calendar is also packed with multiple surprises in its store.
Starting with the heavyweights, they are God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil Village, and Far Cry 6. Other massive releases are Deathloop, Returnal, The Day Before, Glitchpunk, Stray, Psychonauts 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Back 4 Blood. But that’s not all!
The list becomes even longer with the likes of Halo Infinite, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Bravely Default 2, Destruction AllStars, GhostWire: Tokyo, Gran Turismo 7, Kena: Bridge of Spirits and It Takes Two.
Balan Wonderworld, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, Riders Republic, Cyber Shadow, STALKER 2, Solar Ash, Chorus, and Mundaun are several other exciting launches.
Coming back to Rainbow Six Quarantine, then the title might arrive at some point later this year. There’s no official word yet, however, from Ubisoft.
