The next operators to complete the remaining seasons for Year 5 of Rainbow Six Siege has been leaked and they are coming from Ubisoft’s other famed game franchise.
The leaks reportedly came from two sources with reputable histories of providing inside information for Rainbow Six Siege. With two seasons remaining for the online tactical shooter video game, players are to expect two new operators—one for each season.
Per VG 24/7, with Season 2 newly launching, Year 5 is left with Season 3 and 4, summing a total of six operators for this year.
Low-quality footage reveals high-quality operators
As Forbes describes it, “These leaks come from incredibly blurry (and loud) footage released by Gamer Felonies.”
Gamer Felonies is a YouTube channel that is quite notable for past Rainbow Six Siege leaks. Accordingly, the video is said to feature a snippet of the Grand Larceny event.
PC Gamer then notes that there has already been an ongoing community chatter about who the season’s operator might be and the timely surface of this “hilariously grainy, 17-minute gameplay video” strongly supports such discussion.
Despite the video’s low quality, there were two obvious subjects that players were able to identify—Aruni and Scout.
Redditor dives into the blurry video, giving a clearer explanation
Redditor PapaCapinya posted a thread on Redditor with his analysis of the recently leaked footage from Gamer Felonies. The video is described as an “early internal build of the game set on the WIP Chalet rework.”
Revealing the alleged Year 5’s Season 3 attacker—Scout and Season 4 defender—Aruni.
Season 3’s upcoming attacker is said to be named as Scout—a working name, per the Redditor. Other “subtler hints” strongly suggest that Scout is awfully similar to Sam Fisher from the Echelon agency in Splinter Cell.
Apparently, Scout’s primaries is a gun to be named SC3000 (Fisher’s noted weapon) and an MP7. In addition, Scout was seen that his gadget is a “camera that drills into walls.”
This visual evidence goes along with Kormora’s inside information from ResetEra as well. Kormora—per the mentioned online publications—is a seasoned Rainbow Six Siege leaker.
Kormora’s ResetEra thread reads:
“FUNNY YOU ASK. I WAS TOLD THE OTHER DAY THAT THE SEASON 3 OPERATOR WILL BE A CROSSOVER WITH A WELL KNOWN UBI FRANCHISE (NO IDEA IF ITS SAM FISHER HIMSELF) AND HIS ABILITY IS SOME SORT OF DRILLED CAMERA THAT SEES THROUGH WALLS. ONLY THING I HEARD FROM MY DEV FRIEND FOR S4 WAS ‘LASERS.'”
Which brings us to Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 Season 4 operator—a defender named Aruni. According to Redditor PapaCapinya’s analysis, Aruni is also a possible working name.
An excerpt of the Redditor’s detailed description of Aruni’s equipment as seen in the video reads:
“Her gadget isn’t actually deployed by the leaker, but its placeholder name is the Laser Reinforcement and is seen prompted in-game as the Surya Gate – she has four of these and can place them on doorways and windows.”
Further strengthening Kormora’s information as well. However, readers should note that video surfaced after the notable leaker gave out the idea of a possible Splinter Cell crossover.
Therefore, always welcome rumors and leaks with a grain of salt.
