‘Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’ developer working on new IP

Right after delivering a fantastic sequel in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Insomniac Games is now ready to start working on its next game!

As per the developer’s latest job listing, it’s clear that it is hiring people for a new IP after the launch of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

What’s next after ‘Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’?

In its recent Twitter post, Insomniac Games revealed that they hire fresh people for an unannounced project.

Going into detail then the next big game will be a multiplayer title.

After the successful launch of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, fans are also hoping for another big treat in the future.

Currently, it’s not known whether the upcoming IP is related to an existing franchise or a new game in itself. But what’s confirmed at the moment is that it will focus mainly on the multiplayer aspect.

Insomniac has tried multiplayer mode with 2013’s Fuse and, briefly, in the Resistance series. In case you don’t know, the first Ratchet and Clank entry also featured multiplayer gameplay.

Talking about the latest tweet, then the studio is looking for a creative director and art director. The project will have a particular style of storytelling as well.

While there’s no information about this new IP, fans speculate about a possible return of the Resistance franchise. But, unfortunately, it has been in a dormant state for almost a decade now.

Then there are also rumors regarding a new co-op extension for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart itself.

And yes, a Spider-Man: Miles Morales sequel is also making a buzz when it comes to endless possibilities.

But again, should take all these speculations with a grain of salt. Unless Insomniac, itself, announces the new game in its entirety.

New games in 2021

While one section of the fans is looking forward to Insomniac’s next, other gamers are waiting for this year’s awaited heavyweights.

Speaking of heavyweights, then there will be lots of anticipated titles like Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2, and Humankind.

New World, Horizon Forbidden West, a new Call of Duty entry, Battlefield 2042, and Far Cry 6 are also on the list.

However, the extensive line-up extends even further with Deathloop, Dying Light 2, Stray, and GhostWire: Tokyo.

Glitchpunk, The Day Before, No More Heroes 3, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits are other crucial launches.

Coming back to the news of the unannounced Insomniac project, it will be interesting to see what it turns out to be.
