The first information for the forthcoming Mugen Train recap arc in Season 2 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been released!
Koyoharu Gotouge’s original series is finally returning for a complete second season of the anime this Fall, after making enormous waves with the successful launch of its first anime season and even bigger waves with its record-breaking box office performance for its first feature film.
What’s in store in the second season of ‘Demon Slayer’?
Demon Slayer has unveiled the unique specifics for what’s coming next season after announcing it would premiere next month as part of the Fall 2021 anime calendar.
Season 2 of Demon Slayer will premiere in Japan on October 10th, but it will begin with a particular recap version of the Mugen Train arc from the previous film.
While fans may be concerned that the events of the Mugen Train film will be revisited in this new season, the TV anime will shake things up considerably with not just re-edits of the sequences but also fresh new material unique to the TV anime version. It will be a recap but not a full re-telling.
The official Demon Slayer Twitter account stated that this new version of the Mugen Train arc would kick out with a brand-new episode about the day Kyojuro Rengoku, Tanjiro Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, and Zenitsu Agatsuma board the eponymous train.

LiSA will be back for the opening and closing themes
It will then include six episodes of re-edited footage from the film and new sequences and music created specifically for the TV adaptation of the story. Not only that but this recap will be limited to just seven episodes (six if you exclude the brand-new debut episode).
Artist LiSA will return to the series for the Mugen Train arc’s opening and closing themes, Akeboshi and Shirogane, respectively, before the anime moves on to new terrain with the Entertainment District arc in December.
While fans may be familiar with the Mugen Train storyline from the film, the anime will take a fresh look at it. However, for those looking for all-new content, the series’ next adventure will begin on December 5th.
Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu will be streaming Demon Slayer Season 2 alongside its Japanese premiere next month, but what do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing what a new Mugen Train will offer to the anime?
