Realme gears for its launch of a new Q series. The Q series’s first phone is the Realme Q2, specifications of which have been leaked.
Popular tipster Digital Chat Station revealed the design of the Realme Q2 and Q2 Pro.
Realme Q2: The design
According to the tweet, Realme Q2 has a leather finish on the back, with the words “Dare to Leap” engraved and its branding.
The photos leaked by Realme officials show only the light gray color. It is still unknown whether Realme would give more color variants or not.
The eccentric design is not shocking since Realme has launched phones with aggressive designs like of the Q2 in the past.
Realme’s Chief Marketing Officer Xu Qi Chase, uploaded photos of himself using the Realme Q2 Pro. The matter confirms that not only would there be a Realme Q2, but a Realme Q2 Pro as well.
The tipster claims that the Realme Q2 is the most cost-effective smartphone that has a plain leather design.
Another thing revealed in the leak is that there is no visible fingerprint sensor on the power button’s back. This could mean that Realme would go for an in-display fingerprint sensor, which means the screen would be an OLED display, according to a report by GSM Arena.
Camera setup
The leaked photos hint towards a quad-camera setup, with a 48MP primary shooter. The camera unit is similar to the camera units in the Realme V5 5G, Realme X7, and X7 Pro. The Realme V5 5G had a 48MP wide camera supported by three other cameras.
The supporting cameras are the 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. There is a huge possibility that the brand might go with a similar feature for the Q2 and Q2 Pro.
Rumored specifications
According to a report by My Smart Price, the phone features a 5,000 mAh battery, supporting a 65W fast charging power.
Unfortunately, the OLED panel only comes with a standard 60Hz refresh rate to keep the costs minimum.
It is also rumored that both of the new Realme Q phones run on the Dimensity 800U chip, making it a non-5G phone.
Pricing and availability
To date, there are no leaks about the price of the upcoming Realme phones. However, a launch event is scheduled for October 13, 2020, in China.
There has been no news about the launch of the global variant, but users should expect Realme to deliver premium smartphones.
