Realme V5: First ‘V’ series smartphone set to launch on July 27

Share

The Realme V5, which is tipped to arrive with a 5,000mAh battery and 5G support, will be the first smartphone from the Realme V series.

A day after teasing some of the Realme V5’s key display and camera features, Realme has finally confirmed that the phone is now scheduled to launch on July 27 in China.

Announcement date now set in stone

On Weibo, Realme CMO Xu Qi has uploaded a teaser video indicating that the V5 smartphone would arrive on the said date. Apart from the announcement date, the clip also showed the phone’s rear design. In it, one can see a huge Realme logo that is inspired by the Narzo 10A. The phone’s L-shaped camera module can also be seen.

But the phone’s logo won’t only be its headline-grabbing feature. As per GizmoChina, the Realme V5 is also said to be engineered with a brand new material. Accordingly, it will feature an AG glass on its rear panel with a matte finish.

The Realme V5 is also set to pack a display cutout. Its rear camera module, which was a highlight in the video, was also mentioned. This will be the first time the Chinese smartphone manufacturer will feature such camera design.

TENAA certification

The device also made rounds recently due to its TENAA certification. Its accompanying listing suggested that the handset would come with a 6.5-inch LCD screen with a Full HD+ resolution. An aspect ratio of 20:9 and a punch-hole screen were also noted.

Under the proverbial hood, the Realme V5 is expected to be powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity system on a chip. Speculations are rife that it could launch with the Dimensity 800 or Dimensity 720 SoCs.

The phone is also pegged to launch with a massive 4,900mAh battery, with support for 30W fast wired charging. Some outlets also reported that the phone could debut with the company’s fastest 65W charging standard.

Another redefined affordability

Meanwhile, the quadruple-camera system on its rear is likely to be headlined by a 48MP lens. The primary camera will then be coupled with 8MP and two 2MP sensors. Their respective configurations are still up in the air.

The rear cameras were also teased previously with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, which should double as its power button. The volume rocker and SIM card slot are then placed on the left section of the device.

Though there is no word yet about its pricing, it should ultimately mirror Realme’s familiar strategy with its previous bang-for-your-buck phones.
