Rebel Wilson has lost a tremendous amount of weight since she started her weight loss journey. As she is only 17 pounds away from her weight goal, how does everything began for the Australian actress?
It is all about fighting the temptation. Rebel Wilson is trying her best to avoid her sugar cravings so that she can maintain her new weight.
A weight goal Wilson is about to hit
In her recent post on Instagram, Wilson shared a photo of herself, wearing a body-hugging blue dress, showing off her admirable body transformation.
“Thanks for all the love so far on my ‘Year of Health’ journey,” she captioned the snap.
She then told a story about wanting to eat candies but tried not to and had a water bottle instead.
The 40-year-old went on to say she was only eight kilograms or about 17 pounds away from her weight goal.
“Hopefully, I can do it by the end of the year,” Wilson concluded.

Thanks for all the love so far on my “Year of Health” journey – when I was reaching for the candies last night after dinner I thought to myself “hmmmm…better not” and had a bottle of water instead x 8kg’s to go until I hit my goal – hopefully I can do it by the end of the year x
The start of Wilson’s weight loss journey
Wilson began her weight loss journey in May, by sharing a photo of herself mid-workout.
“Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going x it will be worth it,” she said. “I know some days are frustrating as hell … but good things are coming your way.”
At the time, she said she wanted to lose 75 kilograms or about 165 pounds, Us Weekly noted.
“With my ‘Year of Health’ mission, I’m trying to get to 75kg’s and career-wise,” she added. [I] am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year!”
When Wilson went to Austria’s wellness center VivaMayr with her close friend Carly Steel, she officially started her desire to lose weight.
According to E! News, they had endured “the most incredible, comprehensive Mayr method system reset” they had experienced.
This method focused on improving one’s digestion by removing “snacking, reducing gluten and dairy” from one’s diet, and how each meal was consumed.
“It’s an approach that eliminates food intolerances, reduces sugar, encourages eating whole foods slowly, boosts the immune system, and reduces inflammation,” a source told People.
Wilson also underwent aerial yoga sessions and alkalizing foot baths.
On Jan. 2, she officially kicked off her weight loss journey and donned athleisure to walk on the beach. She started to hydrate herself and avoided sugar and junk food.
Australian trainer Jono Castano then encouraged Wilson to undergo physical activity sessions. She ran up and down the stairs of Sydney Opera House and tire-flip exercise.
Castano then said Rebel Wilson would be “Australia’s latest action hero.”
