There will be a new anime series hitting the small screen, titled Record of Ragnarok. It promises a different story where humans have to defeat the gods to save the world.

Viewers are about to see the gods from Ancient Greece, Norse mythology, and Hinduism working together to wipe-out humanity. As this seems to be a promising new tale, it even comes with a star-studded cast, making Record of Ragnarok a must-see.

A list of a star-studded cast

The franchise revealed its list of star-studded casts in a tweet, along with a new key visual showing off its characters.

Soma Saito will join the series as Adam, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Kojiro Sasaki, Takahiro Sakurai as Poseidon, and Junichi Suwabe as Hermes. Yukihiro Nozuyama will also be seen as Heimdall, Sho Hayami as Odin, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Shiva, and Rie Tanaka as Aphrodite.

In addition, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will be part of the cast as Loki, Hinata Tadokoro as Ares, Taisuke Nakano as Huginn, and Tomihrio Yamaguchi as Muninn.

Lastly, Miyuki Sawashiro will also be in the anime as Brunhild, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Geir, Hikaru Midorikawa as Thor, Tomokazu Seki as Lu Bu, and Wataru Takagi as Zeus.

On the other hand, the clip shows the gods Thor, Poseidon, and Zeus. They are having eye-to-eye contact with the three greatest warriors of the universe, Adam, Lu Bu, and Kojiro.

SymaG will perform Record of Ragnarok’s official theme song, “Inevitable.”

“Yes, that’s why I will be in charge of the ED for the anime Record of Ragnarok released in 2021,” he said, per Epic Dope. “Bruise!! “Inevitable” lyrics and composition Shimaya Nanahoshi will send it to you. Thank you!!”

The new anime’s plotline

Warner Bros. Japan describes the Record of Ragnarok story as the nearing conclusion of the 7 million years of human civilization.

All the gods of the world gather in heaven to attend the Conference of Mankind Survival every 1000 years.

The gods decide to end humanity due to the foolish acts they make. However, before they come to the final verdict, Brunhild, the eldest of the 13 Valkyrie sisters, objects.

“To spice things up, why donʼt you test humans?” she said via Anime News Network.

She proposes to have a match between the gods and humanity, or also known as the Ragnarok.

Here, all the gods of the world and warriors of the entire human history will have a one-on-one battle.

The first team to win seven matches out of 13 will win the fight.

Though it’s pretty impossible for the humans to defeat the gods, Brunhild asks if the idea is “chickening them out.”

Insulted by her question, they accept her proposal, so she and her sisters have to choose the 13 strongest warriors in human history to face the gods.

The Record of Ragnarok is set to be out this 2021, though its official release date is yet to be revealed.
