Wendy of Red Velvet is making a comeback after more than a year of hiatus.
Red Velvet has yet to confirm their complete comeback. But, it is likely to happen this year considering Wendy has come out of her hiatus.
The group’s vocalist had an accident last December 2019. She obtained injuries during their rehearsals for SBS Gayo Daejeon. Since then, she took a break from all of her activities to recover.
But, AllKpop reported that Wendy is now officially returning. This comes after she confirmed her mini album’s release on social media.
About Wendy’s solo debut album
On Wednesday, the Red Velvet member released the details of her upcoming mini-album, Like Water. It will feature a total of five tracks, which are all yet to be named.
Based on the confirmation, the track collection will premiere on April 5 at 6 PM, KST. Alongside the announcement of the release date, reports said that pre-orders are now open for fans across the globe.
Wendy is the first member of the all-female K-Pop group to have a solo album. While it is likely that the rest of the group will have their own in the near future, no one knows yet when this will happen. Nevertheless, fans are in total celebration today because of the album, as well as the idol’s recovery.

Official poster and teaser materials for “Like Water”
The Red Velvet vocalist confirmed the news by releasing the official poster of Like Water. She took the time to share the teaser materials on Instagram, wherein she posted two photos.
Pinkvilla said that Wendy looks “scintillating in dreamy shades of blue” in the poster. Aside from her gorgeous appearance, the image includes some of the details of her upcoming solo album.
Underneath the title of the collection, it reads, “new chapter of our lives has begun,” which seemingly reflects the concept of the mini-album. The K-Pop idol did not, however, specify anything on the caption. She just appeared to have urged her followers to tune in on the given release date and time.
Red Velvet and their reported complete comeback
Since Wendy’s hiatus, the five-member K-Pop group has performed in a limited capacity. The remaining members turned to their solo projects and activities, while the others had sub-group releases.
The Korea Portal recently reported, though, that there have been talks about the group’s comeback this year. Moreover, Lee Sung Soo, CEO of SM Entertainment, reportedly assured the public in a conference that Red Velvet will be complete this year, adding that they will return with an album.
