The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition is the first smartphone in the world to be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 768G chipset.
The latest entry under the now-growing Redmi K30 series is now official. The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition did arrive with one sure attention-grabbing feature. The phone is the first one to feature the Snapdragon 768G SoC.
A gaming-oriented chipset
Dubbed as the beefed-up version of the Snapdragon 765G chip, the Snapdragon 768G mobile platform should deliver immersive gaming experience and an even more global 5G capabilities to users.
The Snapdragon 768G chip is also noted for being the first 7-series platform to support Adreno Updateable GPU drivers. Additionally, it can support displays with up to 120Hz refresh rate.
The Racing Edition, for instance, features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone’s screen is also HDR10-compliant and sports Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Apart from the Snapdragon 768G SoC, the Racing Edition also features Adreno 620 for its GPU needs. The phone is then coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable, UFS 2.1 internal storage.
Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition: 64MP-led quad-cam setup
On its rear, the latest variant from the Redmi K30 series packs a quadruple-camera setup. The system comprises a 64MP primary wide sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The handset’s display cutout, on the other hand, houses 20MP wide and 2MP depth sensors.
Another key feature of the phone can be found in the battery department. Not only did Redmi equip it with a massive 4,500mAh battery but it also did its service with equally reliable support for 30W fast wired charging. On paper, this should charge your phone to 100% in just 57 minutes.
Other crucial specifications of the phone include Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, dedicated FM radio, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing and availability
The newest variant from the Redmi K30 lineup is already up for reservation in Redmi’s homeland market. The phone is priced at CNY 2,000 for its single 6GB/128GB storage configuration.
The phone is also set to retail with a new mint green paint job, which is identical to the Redmi K30 5G. Other colors include Blue, Red, Purple, and White.
The official sales of the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition are set to commence on May 14.
