Despite squashing previous rumors that the Redmi K30 Pro might arrive on the market as a member of the POCO brand, a new listing on Google Play now suggests otherwise.
A report surfaced recently indicating that the Redmi K30 Pro might arrive in the Indian market as a new variant of the POCO brand. Today, Google’s list of Play-certified devices shows that the previous speculation might be legitimate after all.
A bona fide POCO smartphone
According to the listing, the popular Redmi K30 Pro will soon be relaunched as the rebranded POCO F2 Pro. What makes this new development extra compelling is the squashing of the rumor as of late that there were no plans to bringing the said phone as a rebranded one in the aforementioned market.
The listing further states that the POCO F2 Pro will sport the same “Imi” code-name the Redmi K30 Pro sported leading to its official launch. In addition, the listing shows the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom, bearing the “Imiinpro” moniker. This is the device’s code name for the Indian market. As it is, it appears that the Redmi K30 Pro duo will soon make their way to the country under the same branding.
As for the other regions, the Redmi K30 Pro will be rebranded into the POCO F2 Pro.
For those who have been religiously following the POCO brand developments lately, the Redmi K30 Pro almost guaranteed route to being rebranded no longer harbors some significant shock in them. The Google Play listing has corroborated earlier findings which stated that the phone would indeed launch under the POCO branding.
Rumored features
Since the POCO F2 Pro will launch as the rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, it will likely come with similar features. Consequently, the phone might arrive with a pop-up front-facing snapper. This should also make the phone feature a notch-less display design. It should also feature a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display, with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels.
On its rear, the phone could also debut with the same circular camera module with a quad-cam setup in it. The system could also consist of a 64MP primary camera, with auxiliary sensors such as a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP depth camera.
Under the hood, the POCO F2 Pro could also be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset, with 4,700mAh battery and support for 33W fast wired charging.
At the time of this writing, it remains to be seen whether the POCO F2 Pro will indeed be launching with these key Redmi K30 Pro features. Whichever the case, it is a certainty that the POCO fans will soon be experiencing a well-deserved treat from the now-independent brand.
