‘Republique’ is getting a re-release for PS4 and PSVR

Initially released as a stealth game for smartphones, Republique will soon get a re-release for PS4 and the PSVR.

The re-release will be in the form of Republique: Anniversary Edition. Camouflaj is the title’s developer, but Skymap is also working on the upcoming versions for PS4 and PSVR.

‘Republique’ re-release early details

The newest version will have developer commentary while launching physically as well as digitally. Limited Run Games will oversee the latter.

A release date for the Anniversary Edition is yet to be announced, however.

But you can still try out the original Republique in case you are getting curious.

When it comes to the gameplay of Republique, then players communicate with the central character, Hope. It is done through their phone or computer so that they can help her escape.

You get total control of surveillance cameras in a fictional totalitarian state or the corporate republic of Republique. You can also hack into many electronic devices to help the protagonist.

The interface that players have to use is the “OMNI View” software. It allows them to lock or unlock doors while distracting patrolling enemies.

The episodic stealth title originally debuted almost eight years ago in 2013 for iOS. Along with Camoflaj, Logan Games also developed it. GungHo Online Entertainment was the publisher.

Since its introduction, the game has also been released for Android and Microsoft Windows.
