Soon after its launch, Resident Evil Village has taken the top spot in the successful history of PlayStation
Resident Evil Village has comfortably taken the top or the number one spot in this week’s UK Boxed charts. The game, which was launched recently, made its way to the top as it was the most anticipated game of the year.
This horror game was a long wait for all the fans, and finally, when it made its way to the top, now fans can rejoice and enjoy the amazing environment that this game puts them in.
The horror game is the second biggest boxed launch of the year, staying right behind Super Mario 3D World. It is stated that 49% of the sale were made on Playstation 5, and about 31% of the sale were made on Playstation 4. About 20% of the sale were accounted for Xbox.
‘Resident Evil Village’ becomes a successful launch of PlayStation
It is one of the most successful launches of the year and accounting for as the most successful launch in the history of Playstation. It is the third biggest game of Ps5 since behind Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Assasin’s Creed: Valhalla.
These two instances were released in November, and as soon as they made their way to the console, they became the greatest hit of the box office. In fact, for Resident Evil Village, the one week’s sale is sufficient enough and made its way along with it in the seventh biggest Ps5 game so far.
Some of the other games that PS5 has successfully delivered to all the players are Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Demon’s Souls, Watch Dogs Legion, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
It is the second-biggest week for a boxed Xbox series game, too, behind Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It has already made its way to the third spot behind all the other releases from the console.
The digital sale numbers are not counted yet
However, it’s not got close to the sales of the previous Resident Evil games, which have been released earlier. Compared to the other games on the list, experts say that the sales are a bit down to 25%. Resident Evil 2: Remake had better sales and almost 40% down than the 2017’s Resident Evil 7.
It did sell better than the third installation of the game, which has a launch sale percentage of 76. As the game has finally entered the scene, experts say that the numbers produced right now have not matured.
Of course, these are just the physical sales that are counted, and digital has accelerated significantly over the past 18 months.
Considering the popularity of the game on Steam, it is likely that the game will have achieved stronger and sharper sales results once the digital data comes flooding in later this week.
