Players have shared that Resident Evil Village’s new installment has drawn some significant similarities from Resident Evil 4.
Resident Evil Village has undoubtedly taken its inspiration from Resident Evil 4. The eighth major title in Capcom’s long-running Resident Evil series has many similarities from the installment, as players have pointed out.
How are the connections drawn?
The Resident Evil series first began in the year of 1996. The first game of Resident Evil was released onto PlayStation, a game that kick-started the horror genre by a long history of zombies used in the video game.
The series have got a dozen spin-offs and installments, as well as seven numbered entries.
Capcom has released a new trailer for Resident Evil Village and an exclusive demo for PlayStation 5. The demo is known as The Maiden.
Players are placed in the shoes of “The Maiden,” where they are asked to exit the creepy castle. The demo does not feature any combat but focuses more on the atmosphere as well as the horror and feel of the game.
Capcom has said that they are working on an additional demo too. The different demo will have combat present for players to understand how to survive.
As reported by various players, Resident Evil Village has drawn many similarities from its predecessor.
The seventh installment of Resident Evil was focused more on the survival end. But the eighth installment is focused on combat and action as similar to the fourth installment, where the game was reinvented as a third-person shooter.
Players get to meet the merchant
Resident Evil 4 iconic merchant is back in the game. The merchant is there to help players get amnesties while on their mission.
The merchant is allowed to sell items to the players, guns, or other sorts of combat items throughout the game.
In Resident Evil Village, the players will find a prominent and overweight Merchant. He is present in the form of Duke.
Both the games have a castle as their focus landmark. On the other hand, both are set in a haunting and terrifying town in the Eighteenth Century.
Though there have not been many details shared, Capcom has said that they will share more eventually with due time.
Resident Evil 4 is indeed a classic masterpiece that expanded over the years. It is regarded as one of the best installments from the series within gaming history and in the whole horror gaming genre.
