Rick and Morty has one of the most dedicated fan bases. They’re always on the lookout for new episodes and more often than not, they try to be involved with how the show goes.
Recently, one popular fan theory suggests that Rick has an alternate granddaughter. And it’s not a character that no one has met yet.
According to the theory, Rick may have another granddaughter other than Summer in an alternate universe.
And it’s said to be none other than Summer’s best friend Tammy Gueterman. Every fan who has followed the animated series from the beginning knows that Tammy is more than just a teenage girl from Harry Herpson High School.
She’s also a deep-cover agent for the Galactic Federation who got romantically involved with Birdperson for a hidden agenda. Her supposed to be parents, Pat and Donna Gueterman turned out to be cyborgs too.
Rick and Morty follows the adventures of mad scientist Rick and his grandson Morty. They go on bizarre adventures by traveling across the multiverse.
Aside from the titular characters, the show also features three other family members. There’s Rick’s daughter Beth, her husband Jerry and their daughter Summer.
There isn’t a lot of story behind Rick’s wife though. But in the different universes in the series, Beth and Jerry are together and they only have two children, Morty and Summer.
The theory comes in through the existence of the multiverse which could mean that there must be some variances. It could mean that Tammy belongs to a certain universe wherein Rick is his grandfather.
The speculation also surfaced after several fans noticed that Tammy looks like Beth and she has Jerry’s brown hair. On top of that, she is a super genius which she may have inherited from her possible grandpa.
So how can Tammy be possibly Rick’s granddaughter? There are a few different explanations.
It’s possible that in an alternate universe, there’s Beth and Jerry with a daughter named Tammy. Another explanation is that Rick may have another daughter in the multiverse and Tammy is her daughter.
In the end, these are all just speculations though and there isn’t really any hard evidence on it. Should creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland explore that theory, fans should be prepared for another shocking twist.
Until then, Rick and Morty fans will have to stay updated with what’s coming in the series.
