The Republican National Convention (RNC) 2020 officially kicked off on Monday evening. True to its plans, President Donald Trump did talk on the first day, emphasizing on watching out for a “rigged election.”
Speaking in North Carolina for the RNC opening day, President Trump opened his first speech for the event. As previously reported, the current POTUS plans to speak every night of the four-day event.
As the live crowd continuously shout “four more years”—pertaining to his re-election come November 3rd, Trump commented, “if you want to really drive them crazy, you say, ’12 more years.'”
Trump hard on the possibility of “rigged election”
As many know by now, Trump has been very adamant that the Democrats are out to rig the election. Political analysts have critiqued the President for his stand on unfound claims.
His strong pursuit against the “rigged election” carried over to his first speech of the event, citing that the opposite party has done “really bad things in 2016” and that they are going to allegedly do it again.
“We caught them doing some really bad things in 2016, let’s we what happens,” Trump warns. “We caught them doing some really bad things; we have to be very careful because they are trying it again with this whole 80 million mail-in ballots that they’re working on sending them out to people that didn’t ask for them, they didn’t ask, they just get them.”
“And it’s not fair, and it’s not right and it’s not going to be possible to tabulate, in my opinion—it’s just my opinion,” he further exclaimed.
He mentions the alleged spying on his campaign, citing it as one of the “bad things” that happened last time.
He further accused that the opposite party with the “whole post office scam,” referencing the issue looming the USPS, wherein Trump has been very vocal of somehow blocking the funding to avoid alleged mail-in ballot voting fraud.
“This time they’re trying to do it with the whole post office scam. They’ll blame it on the post office; You could see them setting it up. Be very careful and watch it very carefully.”
“The only way they can take this election away from us is if this is a rigged election,” Trump said.
“What they’re doing is using COVID to steal an election. They’re using COVID to defraud the American people – all of our people – of a fair and free election.”
Winning the 2020 U.S. election
Should Trump win this November 3rd, his presidency would extend four more years. The Democrats had centered most of their speeches in that possibility and the dire consequences it brings.
Of course, Trump also exerts that winning for a second term is quite important, as he cites the greater direction the country was under his administration before the “plague from China”—the coronavirus pandemic—hit the United States hard.
“Because we have to win; This is the most important election in the history of our country.”
He mentions how the economy has boomed under his presidency, highlighting low unemployment rates—which flipped during the pandemic—and the stock markets.
After laying out the success his administration made, economy-wise, he then mentions his latest “historic” dubbing which is the EUA on convalescent plasma treatment for COVID-19.
He then compares his administration’s fast actions to the “more traditional administration,” which may have taken years “to come up with.”

Issues about the convalescent plasma treatment continue to loom, as analysts believe that the EUA may have been “bullied” into approval. A day before the announcement, the president has accused the FDA of withholding decision-making until after the elections.
The medical and political analysts are worried that the cure for COVID-19 is becoming a political race, rather than ending the pandemic for good.
