‘Rocket League’ goes free: Here are a few tips for beginners

Share

After the long wait, Psyonix’s Rocket League officially goes free-to-play today. It’s a fun and exciting game, but it is far from being easy.

Pysonix’s Rocket League has been around for several years now, and there are already many players who can be deemed experts in the game. Now that it’s going free-to-play, the influx of new players is going to be huge. Those who are new to the game need to understand that it’s not as easy as it looks. Here are a few tips for beginners.

Go against AI

The game can be played with up to eight players in teams of two. While the game does offer a great tutorial, that won’t be enough to let players get a full grasp of the title. Before jumping into casual matches, players should try fighting AI opponents first.

The game offers an AI training match which allows players to test their skills against computers. This will be the best way to learn the ins and outs of the game. It’s certainly much better than going against players immediately.

Conserve the nitro

The name itself suggests that rockets are going to play a massive role in the game. Players can use nitro to give themselves a quick boost. This is one of the most crucial parts of the game, but players should learn how to conserve the skill since nitro is limited.

Rocket League is a fast-paced game on its own already. It gets even faster once players boost their way around the ring. Ideally, players will want to use nitro when the ball is directly in front of the goal so that the shot will be more successful.

Play defensively

Trying to make a goal when just starting in the game is hard. Players should opt to play defensively when they are just new to the game.

Playing on the defense is much easier. All players have to do is focus on blocking the ball from getting into the goal. By focusing on defense, players will be able to become a better player of the team. Eventually, players will become more accustomed to the game and will be able to play on the offense.

Rocket League is now free-to-play, and players should download the game quickly. It’s available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Those who already have the game will be awarded the Legacy Status.
