RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is one of the bestselling management titles of all time. It came out in 2004, but recently received a ton of updates. EGS is giving away the Complete Edition, which released today.
RollerCoaster Tycoon is a beloved title among simulation and management genre fans. The game allows fans to build themselves their own amusement park. Players can design their favorite rides and even a ton of shops.
RCT3 in particular was available in Steam and GOG in 2018. The game, however, delisted after expiring rights due to a lawsuit against Atari. Now, the game is out again, with Frontier Developments still at the helm.
While the game was superb in 2004 and the years before that, subsequent improvements made it better. The current Complete Edition is available on Steam for $20. For those strapped for cash, they can get it for free at EGS.
The Complete Edition is not a full remaster per se. It doesn’t have fancy models, super HD animations or ray tracing. Even then, it has a ton of enhancements that every self-respecting simulation player would enjoy.
On the technical side of things, the game now has widescreen support. It also has better compatibility with new PC hardware, which means it should work with Windows 10.
The game should run at a maximum of 1080p, something amazing for a 16-year-old game.
The release of the new Complete Edition RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 offers a ton of superb features. Players can enjoy more than 300 rollercoasters and rides. They can also add 500 “scenery pieces” that add wads of glamour to their amusement parks.
Apart from the rollercoasters, there are 60 shops and services players can add. There are even 20 animals that players can care for, but what makes the game great is the “coaster cam.”
The Coaster Cam lets players go into a first-person view of how their coaster runs. Players can go front and center with their coasters and enjoy the ride. RCT3 Complete Edition will also have the Soaked! And Wild! Expansion packs for more content.
The real satisfaction, however, comes from managing the park’s finances. Keeping the park in the green is always a fun time. Players can enjoy being their own Disneyland or something bigger.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 will stay free on the Epic Games Store until October 1. The next free title coming to EGS will be Sectordub’s Pikuniku.
