Royal family has been supporting Prince Harry and Meghan with their newfound life in the U.S. Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex separated their ways, they remain part of the royal family.
In the past months, the royal couple started appearing in several interviews. While they gave Prince Harry the freedom he needs, it does not actually mean that he has no limitations at all.
In fact, sources recently revealed that Prince Harry’s comment about his life as a royal reportedly left the royal members unimpressed.
Prince Harry compares royal life to living in a zoo
In his recent interview on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the duke said that being a royal feels like a mixture of The Truman Show and being in a zoo.
The 1998 film is about a man who finds out that his whole life is a reality show. Hidden cameras televise Truman Burbank’s life as he encounters people who act as the actors.
Because of this, the royal family reported feeling angry over his statement in the interview. Meanwhile, Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl alleged that the comment caught Prince Charles and Prince William’s attention.
“I think the problem with the podcast and the things Harry has said — particularly about the institution, feeling like he was in The Truman Show, feeling like he was in a zoo — it has echoes of what he said on Oprah, that he, and his brother, and his father feel trapped by the institution,” she said.
She added that Prince Harry may feel that way. But the future Kings feel otherwise.
More Bombshell Statements About Royal Family
Aside from comparing the royal family to the zoo, the Duke of Sussex already made negative comments about his royal life.
In the same interview, Prince Harry revealed that he feels freer when he and his family relocated to California. He seemingly shaded the royal family’s strictness.
“Living here now I can actually lift my head and actually feel different. You can walk aroundfeeling a little bit more free,” he said.
He went on to express his fear that his pregnant wife and son Archie might experience the same problems Princess Diana dealt with.
Prince Harry repetitively said how much he does not want the job and be around the area where his mother suffered greatly.
The royal family officially cut his financials in 2020 after announcing Megxit.
