Ruby Rose has received countless criticisms in recent months.
Gossip Cop recently published a story on Ruby Rose with a curious headline as to why a lot of people seemingly “hate” the actress. The rumor-debunking site listed down some of the reasons alongside screenshots of tweets from Rose’s bashers.
The publication claimed that Rose’s critics think that she’s a bad actor. After she starred in the first season of Batwoman, some social media users claimed that Rose wasn’t fit for the role.
Ruby Rose responds to criticisms
Rose tried to defend her casting in The CW series on Twitter before deleting her account.
“Where on Earth did ‘Ruby is not a lesbian therefore she can’t be Batwoman’ come from — has to be the funniest most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read. I came out at 12? And have for the past 5 years had to deal with ‘she’s too gay’ how do y’all flip it like that? I didn’t change. I wish we would all support each other and our journeys,” she tweeted.
However, Rose’s post didn’t stop her fans from criticizing her acting on the other projects that she has starred in, particularly John Wick: Chapter 2.
Is Ruby Rose a quitter?
Gossip Cop claimed that a lot of people also think that Ruby Rose is a quitter. After all, she quit her role as Kate Kane in Batwoman. And the initial speculation was because she was either lazy, entitled, or ignorant.
Other critics also alleged that Rose must be unpleasant to work with or she failed to meet the expectations of the directors that’s why she quit.
The actress almost became paralyzed after her neck injury
The rumor-debunking site said that there are several other reasons that might have encouraged Rose to quit the series. The Orange Is The New Black alum previously suffered a neck injury. Her suit in Batwoman also gave her an allergic reaction.
But perhaps the cruelest criticism that Rose received has to do with her appearance. According to Gossip Cop, some people are bashing the actress simply because they don’t like how she looks like.
However, one should take these criticisms with a grain of salt because they are based merely on personal opinion. As Gossip Cop said, not everyone hates Rose. In fact, the Australian actress has a dedicated fan base.
But the rumor-debunking site also suggested that most of the criticisms about Rose are, reportedly, due to her gender identity and sexuality.
“The insidious nature of sexism and homophobia can’t be understated. Though it’s easy to write off most haters as such, it’s still an incredibly ugly side of pop culture that needs to be recognized,” they said.
Ruby Rose hasn’t released a new comment on the matter.
