The rumor mill has it that a new Prince of Persia game may be in the works over at Ubisoft Entertainment headquarters.
The Prince of Persia game title recently found its way back to headlines after footage of the canceled Prince of Persia: Redemption surfaced on YouTube last week.
It was a bittersweet moment for fans as the video showed glimpses of what could’ve been a stellar addition to the franchise.
Now the series is in the news once again but for different reasons as ResetEra forum user and well-known insider “Okabe” implied that a Prince of Persia reveal may be in store in the near future.

ResetEra Prince of Persia thread
For those who are unaware, ResetEra is a forum where gamers can discuss news, announcements, and rumors pertaining to video games. It’s more of a Reddit platform but solely for gaming.
In a thread discussing the footage of the canceled Prince of Persia title, a user who goes by the name of “Komo” expressed his disappointment at the dormancy of the franchise by posting a comment saying “It’s a shame this IP is basically dead now.”
Okabe replied to said post with a few laughs followed by a cryptic “See ya in a couple of weeks.” This isn’t the first time that Okabe has been linked to Prince of Persia rumors since he was the one who famously dismissed the myth of Prince of Persia: Dark Babylon.
According to a new insider thread, a new Prince of Persia game reveal is coming in the coming weeks.
So we gotta ask (now in poll form in the article!), after reading up about the latest leak, do you even want to see a new Prince of Persia game: https://t.co/6iXTaekAtD pic.twitter.com/DZP9uLJPIT

While there’s no telling what Okabe truly meant by his statement, it does seem to suggest that a reveal may be on its way soon. As to what the announcement will be about, it could very well be a reboot of the franchise, a VR title, another movie, or even a mobile game.
Then again, it could end up being exactly what it is, just a rumor. Fans will have to wait and see what Ubisoft has planned.
Ubisoft registered a new site domain
Despite the last major Prince of Persia release being over a decade ago, Ubisoft registered the site domain “www.princeofpersia6.com” just a few days back, further fueling the notion that a new game might be on the horizon.

This could just be a way for Ubisoft to safeguard its inactive intellectual property, though it does seem interesting that they would specifically register “princeofpersia6” considering the fact that a new title would coincidentally be the sixth major installment in the franchise.
Here’s hoping there’s some truth to rumors since fans of the classic game title have waited long enough for the series to make its way back into the limelight.
