Jaida Essence Hall could prove to be a major threat to Gigi Goode in RuPaul’s Drag Race.
If everything goes well in RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 episode 10, Jaida Essence Hall could win the show. Right now, fans think that the drag queen is the biggest challenger to the dominance of erstwhile frontrunner Gigi Goode.
Jaida earned laughs with her attempts to distract guest judges Jeff Goldblum and Rachel Bloom in last week’s challenge. She pointed to random places in the room and yelled “Look over there!” multiple times. The line has already become a catchphrase for the show this season, with fans quoting it on their posts.
RuPaul named Jaida as the winner of the week’s challenge. Apart from Jaida Essence Hall, Heidi N Closet and Crystal Methyd also did well in the RPDR season 12 debate.
RPDR season 12 brings back political debate challenge
Since it is an election year, RuPaul did the third political debate challenge on the franchise. Named “Choices 2020,” it served as the main challenge for the politically-charged episode.
As for the runway challenge, the girls strutted to show their patriotic regalia on the stage. According to a recap, the runway theme for the week was Stars and Stripes Forever.
End of the road for Widow Von’Du
RuPaul ended up choosing Jackie Cox and Widow Von’Du as the episode’s bottom two. They lip-synced to Firework by Katy Perry. Viewers caught a few scenes of Jeff Goldblum crying because of the lip-sync performance, which went viral online.

At the end of the episode, RuPaul sent Widow Von’Du packing. The queen heavily cried during her elimination but still managed to thank RuPaul for the opportunity. On the other hand, there is a lot of pressure for Jackie Cox to bounce back in RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 episode 10.
Jeff Goldblum gets backlash because of Jackie Cox moment
The guest-judging stint of Jeff Goldblum on RPDR season 12 unexpectedly got backlash online. This was due to the comments he made that viewers thought were anti-Muslim.
According to a report, Goldblum posed a question to Jackie, who is of Iranian descent and wore a hijab on the runway. He asked if there is something “anti-homosexuality” and “anti-woman” about the religion he portrayed on the runway.
Jackie admitted that she had conflicting opinions about it despite being proud of her Middle Eastern background. She also said that she wanted to highlight the plight of religious minorities because of Trump’s Muslim ban.
