Russell Crowe’s built has been changing over the years, and one outlet claimed that he has been gaining weight after his divorce.
Russell Crowe has starred in several movies, and many notice his fluctuating weight. One outlet claimed that it has something to do with his divorce two years ago. However, one should take the report with a grain of salt because there is no evidence to support the claim.
Russell Crowe allegedly gaining weight after divorce
National Enquirer published a story claiming that Russell Crowe has been “steadily packing on the pounds” since his divorce from Danielle Spencer. The outlet even noted how “flabby” and “enourmous” he was when he played as Roger Ailes in the American drama TV miniseries The Loudest Voice.
“He needs to slim down to attract the ladies,” the source said, giving the actor unsolicited advice.
Globe published a similar story alleging that Crowe wasn’t wearing a fatsuit. He was allegedly “digging his grave with a knife and fork.”
Globe added that Crowe has to shed the extra 150 pounds because he has to return for Gladiator 2. The tabloid quoted an unnamed source claiming that it has been a nightmare for the actor to lose weight, and he allegedly has been grouchy as hell.
Rumor debunked
Gossip Cop debunked both reports because a source close to Russell Crowe denied it, even calling the articles “grossly false.” Also, National Enquirer failed to mention that the actor had to wear a fatsuit because he couldn’t gain all the weight he wanted to.
Globe was also wrong with its claim that he wasn’t wearing a fatsuit. In his previous interview, Crowe said he couldn’t achieve the ratio of height to weight that he wanted for Ailes’ character, so a fatsuit was needed. Crowe also wore a fatsuit in his movie Unhinged.
Daily Mail published some photos of the actor in character. In the snaps, he wore a pale blue shirt splattered with fake blood. He paired it with beige trousers, a belt, and shoes. A female staffer accompanied him.
The outlet noted that it was a fatsuit because he looked thinner when he was not on set.
In addition, it’s not true that Crowe will be starring in another Gladiator movie. Gossip Cop stressed that there is no script for Gladiator 2.
Also, with Globe and National Enquirer’s reputation for publishing articles based on the statements of its undependable sources, this could be another groundless claim waiting to be debunked. So, avid followers of the couple should take these hearsays lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
