Critically-acclaimed directing tandem Joe and Anthony Russo’s new project with Robert Downey, Jr. makes new waves in entertainment.
Forget what you know—love is quantifiable, or so Iron Man believed when he uttered the epic, world-renowned line, “I love you 3000.”
Robert Downey, Jr. seems to be at it again as the internet buzzes with talks of a new project. The actor reached the height of his career playing the role of Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), the billionaire-slash-genius superhero, firmly cementing Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s place in the film industry.
The Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo are making headlines for being hard at work despite this year’s coronavirus lockdown.
Iron Man fans will be thrilled to hear that the Russo brothers have been planning to reunite with Robert Downeym Jr. for an upcoming film, after having previously teamed up with Thor actor Chris Hemsworth in AGBO Film’s Extraction, released on Netflix earlier this year.

The Russo Brothers
Joe and Anthony wrote, directed, and produced their first film Pieces back when they were graduate students at Case Western Reserve University, where Joe studied acting while Anthony took up law. Their debut movie was featured in the 1997 Slamdance Film Festival.
Steven Soderbergh—an acclaimed filmmaker—offered to produce the brothers’ next film with his production partner George Clooney after seeing Pieces. Joe and Anthony found themselves writing and directing the 2002 American comedy film Welcome to Collinwood starring George Clooney himself.
What's a movie you love that has less than 20,000 votes on IMDb?
Shout out to Welcome to Collinwood, a little seen film from the Russo brothers that they made about 15 years before Captain America and the only full length movie they've written and directed. pic.twitter.com/q95a5FB8Hu

The Avengers outside the Marvel universe
Joe Russo recently revealed plans of reuniting with Downey during an interview with ComicBook back in April.
Joe and his brother Anthony Russo have been a prominent duo in show business for directing four films in the MCU: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
In the same interview, Joe hinted at featuring several Marvel stars in future ventures. The brothers have been keeping themselves busy with new undertakings—one starring Spider-Man’s Tom Holland in a film called Cherry, and another alongside Jake Gyllenhaal (who played Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home) in producing a new horror flick, Relic.
The director duo further showed a fondness for their MCU fam as they alluded to another blueprint, this time with Captain America: The First Avenger actor Chris Evans.
This is from @ChrisEvans’s last day of playing Captain America, ever. Much love and respect to you sir. What an amazing run. #AvengersAssemble pic.twitter.com/LreTlM2JrZ

As bleak as the future might seem at this time, the brothers Russo and Marvel Studios intend to make the pandemic crisis a tad more bearable by gracing the screens once again with the faces of the superheroes we all know and love.
