Rust shooting investigation seemingly found another critical evidence that the authorities released the fourth search warrant so far.
The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Department released the fourth search warrant amid the investigation into the Rust shooting incident that killed Halyna Hutchins. Their investigation has been focusing on finding out how live ammunition made it onto the set of Alec Baldwin’s movie.
The movie’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, said that the ammunition on the set was supplied by Seth Kenney. The search warrant revealed that either Gutierrez Reed or the prop master, Sarah Zachry, picked them up from PDQ Arm and Prop, LLC.
Kenney already broke his silence on the matter, saying he might know where the live rounds came from. According to him, he received reloaded ammunition years ago that featured the same logo that can be seen on dummy rounds he would usually supply a set.
“Seth described the ammunition stuck out to him due to the suspected live round to have a cartridge with the Starline Brass logo on it. Seth described the logo to be a star, an arch, and then another star. He described how the company only sells components of ammunition, and not live ammunition, therefore it had to be a reloaded round,” the search warrant added.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez Reed’s father, Thell Reed, has been known as a veteran Hollywood armorer. He told police that he had provided live ammo to Kenney on his previous movie set. He revealed that actors who fired live ammo underwent training.
What’s next after the search warrant’s release
Following the aforesaid statements, attorney Jason Bowles – Gutierrez Reed’s attorney – told Fox News Digital that the FBI will now compare and analyze the live rounds they found on set to determine where exactly they came from.
“The questions of who introduced the live rounds onto the set and why are the central questions in the case. Today’s warrant is a major step towards answering those questions and we commend the Sheriff’s Office and their lead investigator on their continuing tireless work to find the truth,” he went on.
Previously, Gutierrez Reed confessed she did not really check the gun “that much” the assistant director handed to Baldwin. Meanwhile, Zachry said she checked the ammo in the box that they used to load the gun. At that time, she found some of them did not rattle, leading her to assume there was live ammo mixed in the box.
