A new Quibi exclusive oddball animated series called Futha Mucka is reportedly in development and will star Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds.
Hollywood funnyman Ryan Reynolds and expletive-spewing actor Samuel L. Jackson haven’t shared a screen since 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard, a buddy cop action-comedy about a neurotic bodyguard that has to protect a loudmouth assassin.
It seems the duo were destined to team up once again, since it was recently announced that they would be co-starring in a quirky animated series called Futha Mucka, according to entertainment publication Variety.
The show is set to air on the new streaming service Quibi, though a premiere date has yet to be disclosed.

What exactly is Futha Mucka about?
Not much is known about the upcoming animated series at this point, though the synopsis that Variety provided is just about as bizarre as the show’s name. Quibi‘s logline is, reportedly, as follows:
“Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds love each other. More accurately, Ryan loves Sam. When asked for comment on his feelings for Ryan, Sam said ‘tell them I couldn’t be reached for comment.’ When a minor mishap causes Sam to become Ryan’s primary caregiver, sh*t gets weird. Ryan is delighted to spend all of his time with Sam. Sam couldn’t be reached for comment.”
Judging by that weird description, Futha Mucka looks to be an unconventional romantic comedy featuring two completely contrasting characters who both have feelings for one another.
Ryan seemingly being the type to wear his heart on his sleeve and is rather cavalier about said feelings, while Sam’s likely the grumpy one who’d rather not admit to his hidden thoughts.

It’s all speculation for now, however, since information about the show remains quite scarce. Interested fans will just have to find out once the show finally airs
The Kehoe brothers Jim and Brian – known for their 2018 movie Blockers—will serve as the series’ showrunners and will be executive producers alongside Jackson and Reynolds.
Futha Mucka isn’t the only project Reynold’s has going on these days. The Deadpool star began filming his sci-fi action comedy Free Guy in May of last year, with Reynolds in the lead role.
The movie takes place in the fictional video game world of Free City, where Reynolds plays a non-player named Guy who works as a bank teller. Thanks to a couple of programmers, a rogue piece of code makes Guy self-aware, causing him to try and make himself the hero of the video game.

Following a delay earlier this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Free Guy is now slated for release on December 11, 2020. Aside from Reynolds, the film will also star Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi.
Reynolds fans excited about Futha Mucka, on the other hand, will have to wait for Quibi to officially drop some details.
