The Third Street Saints are making a comeback, all new and improved, with the Saints Row: The Third remastered. The whole game, including its DLCs, has been remodeled and is coming to the gaming platforms real soon.
Deep Silver’s third installment of the Saints Row series just finished its makeover. The Third Street Saints are ready to gang up once again, looking all brand new.
Released in 2011, Saints Row: The Third was well-received by the gaming world, most notably because of its perfect combination of “off-the-wall humor and pop-culture references.”
Although the game was first seen as a competitor of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series, it eventually made a name for itself with its own unique storyline and gameplay.
Epic Games went and dolled up the whole full package of Saints Row: The Third.
In fact, on Deep Silver’s press release, they announced that all 30 DLCs are included in the remastered package. This would also include the three expansion mission packs.
The Weapons of Crass Destruction were embellished, as well as the City of Sin. The remastered version comes with improved lighting and reworked textures.
It’ll be a great revisit to those who have enjoyed the original version of the game.
Many might be thinking as to the reason behind remastering Saints Row‘s third installment, instead of its last one. According to an interview with Gamespot, Koch Media lead art director Nikolay Stoyanov described the third installment as a masterpiece.
Accordingly, the developers believed that “it’s where the series really found itself.”
“When we went back into this game, we had one major consideration, and it was that we really wanted to bring that [game] back in a particular way, and not just as a simple remaster with 4K support. It had to have modernized graphics and technologies, to pump up that engine to make it more interesting,” Stoyanov explained.
The remastered version of Saints Row: The Third is set to hit the digital shelves of Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on May 22, 2020.
