Sam Smith is so sure he got hit by the coronavirus even though he didn’t go out to get tested.
According to reports, the 27-year old singer spoke with Apple Music’s Zane Lower and told him that he got the life-threatening virus while staying in the United Kingdom.
He only relied on his instincts though as he did not get the diagnosis from a hospital. He said that he didn’t get tested but he was so sure that he got it.
Self-isolation for three weeks
Through researching and reading on the signs and symptoms, Smith self-diagnosed and made sure to stay in to allow his body to naturally fight the virus.
“I didn’t get tested but I know I had it. 100 percent had it. Everything I’ve read completely pointed to that. So yeah, I think I definitely had it,” Smith shared.
He also revealed that shortly after getting sick, his sister also started showing the same symptoms. They were quick to contain the spread by doing a three-week lockdown in their family.
“As everyone was kind of really on lockdown, that’s when I got over it, luckily,” Smith said.
Smith also divulged how he was able to cope up his self-isolation while battling the COVID-19 virus in his body. He said that for the first two weeks, all he wanted to do was just sing.
He didn’t want to sing his songs though. He didn’t want to sing and film it. All he wanted to do was just walk around his house and do what he does best, which is singing.
By the third week though things changed and he eventually lost the urge to sing.
Postponing and renaming his upcoming album
Fortunately, the pop star has now recovered and has even joined in the unforgettable Together At Home concert, which is a fundraising concert organized by Lady Gaga for the coronavirus relief.
Smith also announced through an Instagram post that in light of the current health situation, he has decided to push back the release date of his upcoming album.

He wrote that his new album, titled “To Die For,” doesn’t feel right considering everything that is happening around. So after a lot of thinking, he has decided to make some revisions including renaming the album title.
The “Stay With Me” singer assured his fans though that there will be a new album this year. He promised that he will release it soon along with some new music in which he will be working on for the next few months.
