The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G is launching in the U.S. this week. This is Samsung’s attempt to continue its growing 5G midrange lineup.
Samsung launched the original Galaxy A51 back in April. The new Samsung Galaxy A51 5G has the same specs, but with a 5G modem included.
Getting the 5G modem has a huge price to it though. The original Galaxy A51 came out at US$400[AU$553]. The refreshed model comes in at US$500[AU$692].
The upcoming Galaxy device will be available on T-Mobile and Verizon. There is no update yet on when other networks such as AT&T and Sprint will have to carry the A51.
Samsung Galaxy A51 5G specs roundup
Samsung launched the A-series devices earlier this year. The Galaxy A51 sits just below the Galaxy A71.
It is powered by the Exynos 980 with 6/128GB or 8/128GB RAM and storage configuration. The display is a 6.5-inch super AMOLED with 2400 x 1080 resolution.
This device has a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel main shooter. Other sensors include a 12-megapixel ultrawide, 5-megapixel macro, and a depth sensor.
Battery life is more than enough for daily use. It has a 4,500mAh battery with 15W fast charging enabled. There is no wireless charging included.
Networks continue 5G expansion
The new device arrives just in time with T-Mobile’s 5G expansion. According to the network provider, its goal is to increase its 5G capability by up to 30%.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A51 5G is already ready for Verizon’s own 5G via its 5G millimeter-wave network.
The Samsung Galaxy A71 5G has been out earlier. This device has been taking advantage of faster wireless speeds since then.
With the arrival of Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, it is expected that 5G connectivity will be more accessible soon.
