The sequel to Samsung’s polarizing Galaxy Fold is also tipped to sport a top-tier display feature and a crucial Samsung accessory.
Samsung’s sequel to the current Galaxy Fold phone is one of the most buzzed, if not the more water cooler talks in the mobile world now. The Korean tech giant’s need to follow it up with a refresh is as necessary as it is possibly redeeming. Leading to its imminent launch, we are now swarmed with a horde of rumors.
Camera configurations
While some critical details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 have already been leaked, the latest render to have emerged sheds light on the phone’s camera configurations.
Accordingly, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is set to launch with a triple-camera setup on its rear. The render revealed that the phone’s rear camera module design would be similar to the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.
In terms of its configurations, it is tipped that the phone will feature a 12MP primary sensor. It will also be accompanied by a 64MP telephoto lens and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is also pegged to sport two camera sensors on its front panel. However, the accompanying sensors won’t be placed together. Instead, the first sensor will be housed in the phone’s notch of the device’s Side-A small screen. The other one will be placed on a foldable display.
Speculated price
Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants has also given us what to expect on the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 about its pricing. Young said that the new Fold will be priced between USD 1,780 and USD 1,880. The purported pricing is less than the original Fold, which features USD 1,980 at the time of its launch.
Other key features
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is also tipped to support Samsung’s S-Pen stylus. This is quite to be expected considering that the phone’s pricing seemed to have not dropped that significantly over the original Galaxy Fold. If this crucial accessory indeed launches with the device, this will boost the hybrid’s appeal as a modern multi-tasking device.
It is also alleged that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will feature a main display which could measure 7.59-inch and might sport a resolution of 1,689 x 2,213 pixels. The next-generation Samsung Galaxy Fold is also tipped to be covered with Ultra-Thin Glass like the Galaxy Z Flip. The phone could also debut with a 120Hz display refresh rate.
