The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is set to rival the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR in terms of their color variant offerings.
Perhaps the most talked-about, upcoming smartphone in the industry at the moment is the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition. Now, weeks before its impending launch, another development has been uncovered. This time around, the newest detail gives us a glimpse of how the phone will arrive relative to its color offerings.
Let’s say, the limited edition will be rainbow-like.
Six color variants on the horizon?
A new set of renders leaked by notorious tipster Evan Blass revealed that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is expected to launch in six colorways. While previous leaks indicated that the phone would launch in Prism Violet, Prism Blue, and Prism White, the other trio of hues appears to be also referencing spectrometers.
Whether or not these newly-leaked color variants will see the light of days, remains to be determined. Note, however, that Samsung is one of the pioneers of the notion of highly-targeted smartphone color releases, citing it as one of the more reliable methods to prolonging interest in its premium Galaxy offerings.
If these colors hold water, then it is likely that the forthcoming Fan Edition would be for everyone.
Galaxy S20 Fan Edition: Rumored features and specifications
The Fan Edition of the Galaxy S20 series is tipped to arrive with a display between 6.4 and 6.5-inches. It is also speculated to pack with a high 120Hz refresh rate, akin to its flagship Galaxy S20 siblings. An AMOLED panel is only to be expected, of course, right with a centered punch-hole at the top.
Based on recent renders, the special edition Galaxy phone is also pegged to launch with a flat display.
Inside, the phone could arrive with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chip or Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 990 SoC. The latter will have 6GB of RAM, while the former may sport 8GB. Speculations are also rife that the phone could launch with 4G models as well. The battery capacity of the device is tipped to be 4,500mAh.
For its optics, the smartphone will have a triple-camera setup on its rear. The system is set to be headlined by a 12MP camera, with 12MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide as its auxiliary sensors. A 32MP front-facing snapper is also in the mix.
The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is rumored to launch in October with an estimated price tag of USD 760.
