The renders for the Samsung Galaxy S21 show a design quite similar to the Galaxy S20 series. There is a central hole-punch cutout, slim bezels, and a triple rear camera setup.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 series rumors are starting to pick up steam. And according to rumors, the most awaited Android phone is going to arrive surprisingly soon.
Based on Samsung’s previous launch schedule, we can expect the new series of phones to launch early next year. And it could be even sooner than February 2021, based on some leaks.
Specs and features
It looks like the Korean tech giant should deliver a flatter design and faster performance. The new flagship will have a more sophisticated camera system. But there are plenty of other areas for improvement.
As reported by Gadgets360, just like the S20, the Galaxy S21 has a central hole-punch cutout, slim bezels, and a triple rear camera setup. The rear cameras are vertically placed. The flash is placed next to the camera module and not inside.
The source report also states that there is a 6.2-inch flat display on the phone. It measures 151.7×71.2×7.9mm, with the camera bump taking the total thickness to 9mm.
On the other hand, one of the family members, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, also leaked. According to the source, it measures 165.1×75.6×8.9mm, and the thickness increases to 10.8mm when considering the camera bump. The Ultra variant is said to come with support for the S Pen. However, there will be no slot within the phone to house the accessory pen.
If Samsung follows past work, it will use two different chipsets to power the Galaxy S21. Possible processors include the latest Snapdragon 8 Series system-on-chip and one of its Exynos models.
Price and release date
Samsung took a risk with the Galaxy S20 line by not offering a cheaper Galaxy S20e variant. Instead, the tech company provides us with the cheapest Galaxy S20 worth $999.
With that said, the Galaxy S21 price will probably be in the same ballpark. The best guess for the price range, it will be starting at $999 / £899 / AU$1,499 for the regular Galaxy S21. The Galaxy S21 Plus would likely cost $200 more and the Galaxy S21 Ultra $200 more than that.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 series was launched this year at an Unpacked event on Feb. 11. The phones announced on that day went on sale on March 6 while preorders started Feb. 21.
If Samsung follows a similar schedule for its next phones, the Galaxy S21 release date will be Mar. 5, which will be the first Friday of the month.
