The Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020) is shaping up to be a strategically-priced, capable tablet with key design features and solid mid-range specifications.
Samsung has recently been rumored to be mulling on releasing more affordable slates under its Galaxy A Tab series. This week, such speculation is now a reality as a new tablet, dubbed as the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020), has just been made somewhat official by the Dutch retailer CentralPoint in its site.
Thankfully, the said retailer did its duty and published the tablet’s product page, revealing its complete specs alongside its price tags.
LCD panel with thin bezels all around
As per the listing, the slate will arrive with a 10.4-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1,200 x 2,000 pixels. The accompanying image on the site also suggests that the device will launch with thin bezels across all its sides.
Another revelation on the image is the placement of what appears to be the tablet’s front-facing camera and a sensor on its side; the device might be specially developed to be used horizontally. Meanwhile, its power button and volume rocker can be seen as well.
The image also appears to indicate that the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020) might not come with support for S Pen.
Latest One UI based on Android 10; Snapdragon 662 chipset
The site further revealed that the tablet would ship with possibly the latest One UI based on Android 10 out of the box. The slate is also set to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 chipset.
In contrast, its choice of chipset should be beneficial to users who already experienced the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) performance as the Snapdragon SoC is faster and more power-efficient than the Exynos 7904 chipset.
The Snapdragon 662 chip is also based on an 11nm architecture, compared to the Exynos 7904’s 14nm. It also features four Cortex-A73 based CPU cores.
7,040mAh battery with a rumored rear dual-camera setup
The site’s listing also outed that the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020) will be working on a massive 7,040mAh battery. The store didn’t publish any details on whether the device will support fast charging.
The Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020) is also tipped to feature a single camera on its rear. Note that its Google Play Console listing revealed that it might arrive with dual 13MP + 5MP sensors.
Way cheaper than the Galaxy Tab S7 series
In terms of pricing, the site revealed that the tablet would carry a starting price tag of EUR 235 for its base 32GB variant, while the 64GB version will set buyers back an extra EUR 35. On the other hand, the LTE edition will cost around an additional EUR 60. Ultimately, these prices are still way cheaper than the recently-minted Galaxy Tab S7 series.
The Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020) is rumored to go on sale on September 11 in Belgium and the Netherlands. The tablet will retail in gray, gold, and silver color variants.
