The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is keeping the Android tablet dream alive with a 10.4-inch LCD display, an S-Pen, and a 7,040mAh battery.
Banking on the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, which is touted as the best Android-based tablet on the market, Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The newest mid-range tablet is essentially similar to that of the host variant relative to its looks but dialed it down significantly in the pricing segment.
A Scaled-Down Display
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features a 10.4-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1,200 x 2,000 pixels. This is markedly a departure from the vanilla Galaxy Tab S6’s 2,560 x 1,600 OLED panel. Nevertheless, the tablet still manages to features the class-defying near bezel-less sides, which are just as modern as they are necessary.
Mid-Range Internals
Powering the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is an unnamed octa-core processor, which is clocked at 2.3GHz. Speculations are rife that the device will be equipped with the Samsung Exynos 9611 system-on-a-chip at the time of its launch.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage options; the latter is expandable via its dedicated microSD card slot to up to 1TB of extra storage.
Traditional Cameras
Samsung didn’t go over the top with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite’s camera offerings as it only armed the device with a single 8MP wide sensor on its rear. On its front is also a decent 5MP selfie snapper.
OS and Other Key Features
On its software front, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite runs on One UI 2.0, based on the latest Android 10 out of the box. Samsung also confirmed that the tablet comes with Dark Mode and Samsung Know in the fold.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite also features a capability to allow users to answer calls and reply to text messages, so long as they are connected with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone running Android 9.0 Pie or higher. The accompanying device should also have at least 3GB RAM.
Another feature of the phone, which is deemed to be like one of its highlights, is the inclusion of an S-Pen stylus. The tablet also supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and LTE connectivity. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack and is equipped with AKG-tuned speakers and Dolby Atmos, which complete the device’s multimedia experience.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite’s pricing and availability are still yet to be confirmed. The tablet will retail in three color variants – Oxford gray, Chiffon Pink, and Angora Blue.
