The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 looks to regain its hype on August 5 after its predecessor had a botched launch last year.
The world isn’t seeing a slowdown of the effect brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Several countries across the world are still suffering from a skyrocketing number of cases. As such, companies have had to pivot to cater to a handicapped market brought by unemployment.
Samsung isn’t one to follow such a trend. Apple will reportedly adjust the pricing of its new iPhone line up to cater to a market with less cash to spend. Its rival, Samsung, is still pushing the envelope for the ultra-premium phones. President of Samsung Electronic Roh Tae-Moon said,
“Instead of playing it safe, we take risks and move fast. Instead of waiting for others, we set the direction for the rest of the industry. Even in these difficult times, I know that these pillars will keep our focus squarely where it needs to be: on our customers.”
On August 5, Samsung will unveil five of its latest flagship phones highlighted by the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 teaser?
The lengthy name for the Fold series is more of a product alignment with the company’s products. The ‘Z’ moniker is labeled for the experimental super-premium phones of the company, such as the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Fold.
There have been mixed signals regarding the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Some think that Samsung will go all out on August 5 and release all five phones in one go. On the other hand, some think that Samsung will hold off on the of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 for an October release.
Samsung wasn’t spared from the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their production, too, has been affected by the lockdowns. As such, the release Galaxy Z Fold 2 may be held off for a later time. This way, the company can also keep the excitement for the phone longer.

Leaked teaser image
Ice Universe, a famous Samsung leakster, tweeted what looks like a blurry image of the new foldable phone. It looks quite authentic as it has the same Mystic Bronze color as the Galaxy Note 20 photo that Samsung Russia posted on its website.
The image is too blurry to determine the fine lines around the phone. However, one huge leak that this photo shows is the camera bump. It looks like Samsung will implement the same massive camera module that the Galaxy S20 has. In other words, the new Galaxy Z Fold 2 phone could even be thicker than its previous model.
