Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 to get S Pen support this year

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is set to receive a huge upgrade by getting an S Pen similar to the Galaxy Note series.

Word just arrived that Apple is back on top as the smartphone ladder. The iPhone reportedly outsold Samsung’s smartphones during the last quarter of 2020. There are several factors that contributed to this, and innovation isn’t one of those on the list.

The iPhone 12 series is quite similar to the iPhone 11 except for the new iPhone 12 Mini entry. As such, Samsung is probably not too shaken up by this news. Instead, it is even pushing its development further to blow away the competition.

Samsung might not be selling more products than Apple. However, it is redefining technology, especially with its Galaxy Z series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will get an S Pen feature

In a bid to upsell more, Samsung is expected to deliver the death blow to the Galaxy Note Series this year. However, the S Pen, which is its key selling factor, will be here to stay.

The Korean company has already spread the usage of the S Pen across its product lines. Last January, the company announced that its new Chromebooks and the Galaxy S21 phones are now S Pen ready. In other words, it will just be a matter of time until the Galaxy Z Fold will get the upgrade.

Last year, it was rumored that the feature will not land on foldables until 2022. It is largely due to the limited technology that was available then.

Now it seems like Samsung has switched to another gear to fast-track the development of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. They’ve apparently figured out how to make the inner screen of the foldable be durable enough. So using an S Pen on it will not result in scratches and dents.

What else will the foldable have?

The latest flagship foldable isn’t expected to release until later this year, so rumors about its features have been scarce.

It remains to be seen if Samsung can find a space for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to have a slot ready for the S Pen. If they do, then that will be a game-changer, especially for the Galaxy Note Series fans.

If the Galaxy S21 Ultra is any indication, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have an identical camera system. It will also most likely have the latest and most powerful chipset to run multitasking on it.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will also most likely ship with Android 12 and the latest One UI 3.0.
