The mobile world isn’t entirely moving away from the noted phenomenon that was the motorized pop-up selfie camera.
Samsung could be working on its first smartphone with a motorized pop-up selfie snapper, a new report has revealed. While the latest development didn’t name the said Galaxy smartphone, the purported smartphone is tipped to be the Galaxy A61 under the company’s revamped Galaxy A series.
Samsung’s first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera
A set of renders of the alleged Samsung Galaxy phone reveal that the rumored phone will arrive with a motorized pop-up front-facing snapper. The mechanism is seen on the render placed right at the device upper-left frame. This is the same placement in which the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro launched with.
At the time of this writing, the alleged Samsung Galaxy phone’s selfie configuration is still very much kept in the dark.
A rear triple-camera setup with a mounted fingerprint reader
The tipped Samsung Galaxy phone’s rear panel design also appears to be a highlight on the leaked renders. From the images, the phone sports a triple-camera setup on its back panel, one that is aligned vertically on the upper-left section.
A rear-mounted fingerprint reader is also shown on the renders. This suggests that the phone won’t come with a fingerprint sensor underneath its display. Nevertheless, the phone could still launch with an AMOLED display. Recent rumors also suggest that the phone is likely to arrive with an estimated 6.5-inch display.
Another interesting tidbit in this section is the combination of a pop-up camera and the phone’s placement of the fingerprint reader. Most phones which feature a pop-up selfie camera usually come with an in-display fingerprint reader. This indicates that the phone may get marketed under the lower end of the mid-range segment class of smartphones.
More rumored features and specifications
The leaked renders of the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy phone also revealed that the phone would arrive with a Black color variant. The phone also sports what appears to be slightly curved edges and thin bezels.
A USB Type-C port can also be seen at the bottom of the phone; a microphone and speaker grille flanking the said port are also in the mix. There is no indication of a 3.5mm headphone jack, however.
The mysterious pop-up camera-toting Samsung Galaxy phone is pegged to be released in a couple of months from now. Expect some of its key features to pop up leading to its eventual announcement
