Samsung is all set to launch five new products on its Galaxy Unpacked event. The products were already leaked but it will not be official until the event on August 5.
The Korean tech giant has confirmed the number of devices arriving next month as the leaks kept on popping up. There will be a total of five Samsung devices to be launched on the said date.
Tae-moon Roh, Samsung president and head of mobile communications, shared a blog post detailing the upcoming event. According to Tae-moon, the company will be announcing five powerful devices.
“At this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked, we’ll be introducing five new powerful devices,” he stated.
However, he did not mention the names of the products.
What are the upcoming devices?
Several leaks these past few weeks revealed the possible devices arriving in August. But these are not confirmed yet.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series
The Samsung Galaxy Note is the flagship device of Samsung. It is almost a year since the Galaxy Note 10 came out. Thus, it is highly likely that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will arrive at the same time.
Leaks revealed that there will be two Galaxy Note 20 devices. There is a regular version coming up and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The latter being the more powerful device.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 will power both devices. The configuration will be 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage.
These devices will arrive with a triple camera setup. The Note 20 Ultra shoots great photos due to its 108-megapixel sensor.
Other details include at least 4,000mAh battery, wireless charging, 45W wired charging, and a high refresh rate screen.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be very similar to Galaxy Z Flip. The Z Flip is recently released earlier this year. The main difference is the 5G chip found on the newer device.
It is rumored to have a plastic front, glass back, and an aluminum frame. It will have a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2636 x 1080 resolution.
The Snapdragon 865 powers this flip smartphone. It will have 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage.
It will have a 12-megapixel dual-camera setup on the back with a 10-megapixel selfie shooter. The battery life might be a little bit on the lower side, however, as it only has 3,300mAh of battery.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will have the same processor as the Z Flip. The external display will be 6.23-inches while the interior display will be 7.7-inches. A huge improvement over its predecessor is the high-refresh-rate 120Hz display.
The device will ship with 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage. It will have a triple-camera setup at the back with two 10-megapixel front-facing cameras.
The 4,365mAh battery will power the device. However, the two screens and average battery size may give the Z Fold 2 a below-average screen-on-time.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+
There are two new Samsung tablets arriving. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and its larger sibling the S7+.
Both devices are flagship quality with a top-tier processor and RAM configuration. The S7 tablets will take on the Apple iPad Pro.
The regular tab S7 might have a 10-inch AMOLED display while the larger version will have a 12-inch AMOLED screen.
Samsung is definitely packing a lot of features on this device. Apple has been the king of tablets and no Android device came close. But Samsung might have the chance now.
Samsung Wearables
There are reports that Samsung will launch two new wearables this August. The first one is the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, which is its second generation truly wireless earbuds. The second one is the Galaxy Watch 3.
Samsung improved this Galaxy Buds Live as the original one did not do well. This time, Samsung wanted to take on the Apple Airpods. It even added iOS compatibility to this new device.
Hopefully, it will sound better than its competitors in order to stand out.
The next rumored reveal will be for the Galaxy Watch 3. According to leaks, the Galaxy Watch 3 will arrive in Bluetooth and LTE variants. There are two sizes to choose from as well.
The models will have a rotating bezel, Gorilla Glass DX display, and onboard GPS. These watches will also have 5ATM water-resistance as well as military-grade durability.
There are no full details for the Galaxy Watch 3. But, based on previous generations, it will be a contender in the smartwatch market.
These are the Samsung devices rumored to arrive on the Galaxy Unpacked event. Hopefully, there will be a lot more. It would be nice to see Samsung pull out a secret product that will take the tech scene by storm.
