SNK just dropped a new trailer for Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection today, which confirms the games that come to expect in the compendium, including one title that many did not see coming.
The mystery game is the seventh title in the Samurai Shodown series, Samurai Shodown V Perfect. The game was supposedly the final entry of the series in the NEO-GEO console. Only for the game to not see a market release even after its completion.

Seven Games, Single Package
Making for seven games in total, the complete list is comprised of the following titles:
- Samurai Shodown
- Samurai Shodown II
- Samurai Shodown III
- Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge
- Samurai Shodown V
- Samurai Shodown V Special
- Samurai Shodown V Perfect
However, more than just bringing the games in a single collective package, the collection also comes with new features, too.
One notable feature is the online play which lets players from across the globe compete, based on skill and record. Whether it be by ranked or casual matches. The experience of which smoothened significantly with the employ of the rollback netcode.
Adding more reasons to pop the game than just play competitively against players or AI is the new museum mode. It highlights miscellaneous stuff such as design documents, concept arts, developer video interviews, and a music player to run over 200 tracks.
Essentially giving players a time to chill by simply relishing on the greatness that made the series possible throughout.
Mortal Kombat Influence
The Samurai Shodown series is a popular beat-em-up title by SNK, which has had many following since its release in 1993. The game has had influence from the Mortal Kombat which, at the time, saw surging popularity across the globe.
Unofficially the ‘Mortal Kombat of the East,’ the two franchises are most prominent for their simplistic combat yet over-the-top violence.
Upon its release on the West, the game collection will see initial release at the Epic Games Store on June 11, 2020. A subsequent launch will follow-up a week later on June 18, 2020, at Steam.
Then, on July 28, 2020, the game will see digital release across current-gen consoles.
What is more is it will be entirely free on the Epic Games Store from June 11th at 11am to June 18th, 11am (EDT) ! #StayHome #SNK #EpicGames #SamShohttps://t.co/4ekk9iIHbi pic.twitter.com/atxbUtT9IZ
