Scooter Braun put an end to his seven years of marriage with Yael Cohen Braun.
Multiple sources revealed this week that Scooter Braun decided to separate from Yael. The two, reportedly, went through a rocky patch that led them to decide to take a break.
Despite their separation, a source clarified to Page Six that they have no plans on filing for divorce yet.
As of now, both Braun and Yael remain friends and are currently living together.
Their separation came after they posted happy moments together. On July 6, the music mogul even posted a picture from their wedding to mark their anniversary. The pair also shared pictures with their children as they spent the holiday weekend together.
Despite such abrupt news, their friends, reportedly, knew about their separation for over a month.
Braun and Yael began dating in 2013 and currently share three kids — Jagger, Levi, and Hart.
Braun infamously became the center of attention due to his drama with Taylor Swift and Big Machine Records founder, Scott Borchetta.
What happened to Braun?
In 2020, Braun purchased Big Machine Label Group for $300 million through his holding company, Ithaca Holdings. The acquisition gave him the rights to Swift’s master recordings that she made before leaving the label in 2018.
Following that, Swift posted a blog on her Tumblr blasting the deal. She was, reportedly, unaware of the purchase and never got the chance to buy her music back.
“For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work. Instead I was given an opportunity to sign back up to Big Machine Records and ‘earn’ one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in,” she wrote.
She went on to claim that she suffered from Braun’s manipulative bullying in the past years. Swift noted that Borchetta knew about the events, as well.
After releasing the statement, Borchetta answered her and debunked her claims about the opportunity she never had to buy her music.
He added that the singer’s father, Scott Swift, was a shareholder at the label.
“Taylor had every chance in the world to own not just her master recordings, but every video, photograph, everything associated to her career. She chose to leave,” Borchetta said.
He noted that he never saw Braun bullying her.
Swift reignited the feud in November when she claimed that Big Machine prevented her from performing her old music. But after outing more dramas, Swift decided to re-record her music instead.
